Following are visit to the synagogue, we went to see the Bahia Palace.  The palace was built in 1866-67 as the home of Grand Vizier of the Sultan.  It has a beautiful courtyard surrounded in part by rooms for his wives and concubines.  There are also beautiful gardens and a lot of very nice mosaic work.

A glimpse of the main patio and some of the gardens inside the palace.
Samples of some of the beautiful tile work.
Following our visit to Bahia Palace, we did a little more exploring of the medina.  Once again I caught by the displays of spices and nuts and in this case what appear to be spices.  The coloful display of the spices is what caught my eye.
The woman in the picture top left is extracting the oil from something she is grinding.  I'm not sure what it is she is grinding but possibly some sort of nut.  Click HERE to see a video of this process.
Lunch Time

We stopped at one of the many eating spots along the way.  Granny is awaiting the arrival of our sumptuous lunch.  On the right are all the dishes for this feast.

Starting below left and working clockwise, we have spicey mashed tomatoes, mixed olives, tomato salad, mixed tagine, and french fries.  The last picture shows the remains after we completed the meal.
As evening approaches, it is time to go to Jemaa el-Fnaa - the main square in the medina.  During the day there is some activity in the square but the square REALLY comes alive at night.  They come in every form of transportation.  In all sorts of costumes and dress.  All ages from all over.   Click HERE for video of the square in action.
